Family Vacation Travel -Kauai For Kids
When it comes to family vacation travel, there are few places on the planet which offer more for the entire family than the Hawaiian island of Kauai. There are plenty of activities available for the kids so that parents can get some much needed rest and relaxation. Kauai hotels and resorts feature plenty of things to keep the youngsters occupied, including supervised activities which allow their parents to do a little exploring on their own while being confident that their kids are enjoying their vacation too!
The Grand Hyatt Kaua’i Resort & Spa offers a full day of children’s activities for kids between 9:00 am to 4:00 pm, as well as evening sessions from 4:00 pm to 10:00 pm. Your children will learn about Hawaiian arts and crafts and have the opportunity to do face painting, weave leis and palm fronds as well as make seashell bracelets. They’ll also enjoy scavenger hunts, meet parrots and feed beautiful Koi fish (they will eat right from your hand!). The nighttime sessions also include video games and computer time. Children from 3 to 12 will enjoy these activity sessions.
At the Kaua’i Marriott Resort & Beach Club, there is the Kalapaki Kids Club. Full-day (9-3) sessions are only available on Saturday and Sunday, with half day sessions of 9:00-11:30 am or 11:30 am – 3:00 pm being offered on weekdays. On Wednesdays, there are evening activities for children from 6:00 to 10:00 pm. Your children will have lots of fun playing traditional Hawaiian games, going on treasure hunts, taking part in obstacle course races, trying out boogie boarding and much more . This is a family vacation travel option for kids from 5 to 12 years old. This resort also has its own mini zoo and a kids’ pool for your children’s entertainment.
There is also a program for children from 5 to 12 years of age at the Princeville Resort. The Keiki Aloha Program offers sessions from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm Monday through Saturday which include Hawaiian dance lessons, arts and crafts and even gives your kids a chance to get in the water with snorkeling, swimming, canoeing and visiting tidal pools!
The Keiki Aloha Program is also available at the Sheraton Kaua’i, with half and full day sessions from Monday to Friday. There are activities suited to children from 3 to 12 years of age (children must be toilet trained, however). There are activities offered including ukulele and hula lessons, fishing using traditional bamboo poles, arts and crafts including lei weaving and beach activities such as swimming and sand castle building. There are also Hawaiian games and storytelling which are sure to delight your kids.
At the Hanalei Colony Resort, every condo is supplied with puzzles, games and toys to entertain the kids on your family vacation travel to Kauai. The resort also offers a full schedule of family friendly activities and a Kid’s Camp (Keiki Kamp) periodically throughout the week. These provide fun activities for kids including Hawaiian arts and crafts, nature walks and games. The resort even gives parents a little time to themselves in the evening with their weekly movie and pizza night for kids!
At The Point at Po’ipu, kids can enjoy lei making classes, ukulele lessons and other arts and crafts activities for kids. Of course, all of these children’s activities programs will require you to make arrangements in advance for your children to attend, so don’t forget to take care of this before you leave on your family vacation travel. Your child can have fun while learning a lot about this tropical state and maybe even pick up a knack for the ukulele or surfing – and they’ll definitely come home having learned something about Hawaiian culture. Kauai is a great choice for your next family vacation.
